the titanic has been kind of one of my perennial/lifelong hyperfixations in no small part because i can't really understand why i find it so interesting. there have been other major disasters! why does this one have such a powerful cultural grip? is it just the movie? my first foray into titanic interest happened before i was old enough to be allowed to see that so idk ...
